What it is

Clear aligners are a series of custom, removable plastic trays that gradually move your teeth into position, a less visible alternative to metal braces for suitable cases.

Who it's for

  • Mild to moderate crowding or spacing
  • Adults who want straightening without visible metal brackets
  • Patients who can commit to wearing trays 20–22 hours a day
  • People with good oral hygiene discipline, since trays are removed to eat and brush

Who it isn't for

  • Severe bite problems or complex jaw misalignment usually need braces or, in some cases, surgical correction; aligners aren't built for that level of movement
  • Aligners only work if worn as directed; if you know you won't reliably keep them in, braces will give a more predictable result

If this is you, we'll say so at the first visit rather than after.

Questions

Questions people ask

How long does aligner treatment take?

This depends on how much movement is needed. Mild cases can be a few months, more complex cases longer.

Can I take them out to eat?

Yes, that's one of the main advantages. You remove them for meals and brushing, then put them back in.

How often do I change to a new tray?

Typically every one to two weeks, as instructed by our team based on your progress.

Will aligners affect my speech?

There's often a brief adjustment period of a day or two; most people adapt quickly.

Aligners or braces, which is right for me?

It depends on the complexity of your case. Our team will tell you plainly if your case is better suited to braces.

What affects the cost?

The complexity of the correction needed, the number of aligner sets required, and the aligner system used.
